摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which realizes both a large screen (wide angle of view) by distant display of a virtual image displayed to a user and miniaturization of a main body. <P>SOLUTION: A display device 1 comprises: a light source 101 which outputs a laser beam; an illumination optical assembly 102 which emits the laser beam as illumination light; a spatial modulation element 103 which diffracts the illumination light by displaying a diffraction pattern; and a mounting unit 111 to mount on a user's head. When the mounting unit 111 is in a state of being mounted on the user's head, a location relation between the spatial modulation element 103 and an eyeball assumed location 191a which is assumed as a location of an eyeball 190 of the user is fixed. As a diffraction pattern, the spatial modulation element 103 uses the diffraction light diffracted by the diffraction pattern and reaching the eyeball assumed location 191a, and displays a diffraction pattern such that a virtual image is displayed to the user. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
