The present invention provides a liquid-crystal display panel and liquid-crystal display device wherein filamentous defects within display pixels are reduced, yielding excellent display quality. This liquid-crystal display panel has a plurality of spacers between a pair of substrates, with the separation between vertically-adjacent spacers and the separation between horizontally-adjacent spacers being different. Lines connecting spacers in the direction in which the inter-spacer separation is shorter form angles of at most 20° with the orientation direction of liquid-crystal molecules in a liquid-crystal layer when below a threshold voltage.
