<p>PURPOSE: An asymmetric oval shaped chain gear for a bicycle is provided to overcome the inefficiency of a symmetric oval shaped gear and to maximize the efficiency of the oval gear by considering the motion characteristics of a human body; special conditions like dancing while driving; driving inertia; and the angular acceleration of a crane. CONSTITUTION: An asymmetric oval shaped chain gear for a bicycle comprises a first oval(1), a second straight line(3), and a second oval. The major axis of the first oval is positioned on an X-axis, and the minor axis thereof is positioned on a Y-axis. The second straight line is vertically formed on the minor axis and crosses the Y-axis. The second oval is positioned on a first straight line, passes through first knee points(A,A'), and contacts to oval contact points(B,B') of the first oval. A straight section ranging from second knee points, which are the intersection of the first straight line and the first oval, to the first knee points; a second oval section ranging from the first knee points to the oval contact points; and a first oval section ranging from the oval contact points to the second knee points are combined to form the chain gear.</p> |
