PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling the band edge position of a solution film forming facility and a method thereof are provided to easily correspond to the widening of a film and perform a meandering control precisely. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling the band edge position of a solution film forming facility includes a first drum band edge position sensor(41), a steering roll(40), a steering roll tilting mechanism, and a band edge position controller(43). The first drum band edge position sensor extracts the edge position of the band(23) of the second direction which is the width direction of a band from a first drum(21). The steering roll rotates by contacting with the inner periphery(23C) of a lower band(23B) between the first drum and a second drum(22). The steering roll tilting mechanism inclines a lower band to the second direction by displacing the steering roll inside of a vertical plane which is vertical to the inner periphery of a lower band. The band edge position controller controls the tilt angle of the steering roll based on the edge position signal of the first drum band edge position sensor.
