<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress increase of a load on a rider while achieving a smooth gear shifting operation in a bicycle having a drive-assistant electric motor and a transmission. <P>SOLUTION: Receiving parts 151b, 175a, 175b receive commands for shifting gears. An output control part 151a has a first control, and a second control for making an output of the drive-assistant electric motor 161 smaller than an output of the drive-assistant electric motor 161 in the first control, only when a crank exists in a prescribed range including a top dead center and a bottom dead center, and changes the output of the drive-assistant electric motor 161 according to pedaling force.
