1,269,303. Magnetic laminate. NATIONAL CASH REGISTER CO. 21 Aug., 1970 [15 Sept., 1969], No. 40402/70. Heading B5N. [Also in Divisions B6 and H1] A magnetic record medium comprises a polymeric film which carries a layer of magnetic recording material substantially composed of metal compounds on one surface and the other surface is adhered to a sheet of substrate material by an adhesive consisting of a mixture of epoxy resin and nitrile polymer. A copolymer of 1,3-butadiene and acrylonitrile is specified as the nitrile polymer. Specified polymeric films are polyethylene terephthalate, cellulose acetate, cellulose acetate-butyrate, polymethyl- and polyethyl-acrylate and polymethylmethacrylate carrying a layer of iron oxide particles. The substrate may be of a polymeric film or preferably paper. In a preferred embodiment a strip of the polymeric film is located in a groove or depression in the surface of the substrate. |
