The accumulator (1) has a hollow cylinder (7) whose inner space (5) is divided into a gas-tight gas chamber (11) and a working chamber (15), where the gas chamber is filled with a compressible medium (9), and the working chamber is filled with a hydraulic medium (13). A separator piston (17) is longitudinally mounted within the interior space. A bellows device (21) defines a sub-chamber (19) of the inner space, and is arranged within the inner space. The separator piston comprises a fluid path (23) that connects a part of the inner space with the sub chamber. The compressible medium is selected from air, gas and gaseous mixture. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for pneumatically storage of hydraulic energy by a piston accumulator (2) a motor car.
