<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for treating exhaust gas for controlling NOx concentration which is lower than a regulation value capable of reducing an overheated steam used as a heat source in an exhaust gas heating device or fuel. <P>SOLUTION: Heating in an exhaust gas heating device 6 is controlled so that an exhaust gas temperature from the exhaust gas heating apparatus 6 is to be at 210°C, for example. An amount of NH<SB POS="POST">3</SB>gas to be injected in a catalytic denitration apparatus 7 is controlled so that the NOx concentration of the exhaust gas from the catalytic denitration apparatus 7 becomes 30% or less of a regulation value, for example.
