<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high linearity and high efficiency power amplifier based on a linear amplification with nonlinear components (LINC) modulator. <P>SOLUTION: A composite high power amplifier (C-HPA) 200 having a LINC modulator 250 includes: a separator 102 that generates a plurality of constant envelope signals from a source signal; processors 202a, 202b that receive input signals and detect and remove phase jumps in phase trajectories of the input signals to generate first signals having a continuous phase trajectory and second signals having a discontinuous phase trajectory; quadrature modulators 108a, 108b that mix the first signals with the second signals to reconstruct the input signals; HPA1 (112a), HPA2 (112b) that amplify the reconstructed signals x1(t), x2(t); and an adder 114 that adds up amplified output signals y1(t), y2(t). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
