The invention relates to a method for repairing a damage point (31) in the surface of cast parts (13). The invention further relates to a method by which a repair material suitable for the cited repair method can be produced. According to the invention, spray particles (19) having the same cast structure as the cast part (13) are used as materials. Said particles are applied to the damage point by cold gas spraying, wherein the cold gas spraying is characterized in that the spray particles are not melted and, advantageously, the cast structure is retained after the spray particles (19) contact the repair point (31). According to the invention, the repair point can thus be advantageously furnished with the same properties as the rest of the component to be repaired. According to the invention, the repair material can be produced in that a cast part having the required cast structure is reduced to small pieces.
