<p>According to an embodiment, a communication device is described comprising a receiver configured to receive a data stream including data for reconstructing media data at a first quality level; a memory for storing data for reconstructing the media data at a second quality level wherein the first quality level is higher than the second quality level; a determiner configured to determine whether the rate of reception of the data included in the data stream fulfils a predetermined criterion; and a processing circuit configured to reconstruct the media data from the data included in the data stream if it has been determined that the rate of reception of the data included in the data stream fulfils the predetermined criterion and to reconstruct the media data from the data stored in the memory if it has been determined that the rate of reception of the data included in the data stream does not fulfil the predetermined criterion.</p>
