PURPOSE: An Image display device and an image signal processing method thereof are provided to recognize an unexpected situation during watching by notifying a pause of an image to a user beforehand. CONSTITUTION: If playable time or playable data volume of a measured image is less than a predetermined reference value, an image display device provides pause information of the image(S14,S15). If the playable time or playable data volume of the image is more than the predetermined reference value, the image display device provides play start information(S17,S18). The image display device starts the play of the image at a play timing for the image(S19).
