The device (1) has an upper capacitor unit (C1) connected between an output node (2) and a zero point (N). A lower capacitor unit (C2) is connected between the zero point and another output node (4). A direct current (DC) voltage source (8) is connected between input nodes (12, 14) to generate DC voltage (Us) with amplitude smaller than that of intermediate circuit voltage (Uzk). Switch units (S1, S2) are operated together with a coil unit (L) during an operation of a boost converter to transfer electric power from the power source to respective capacitor units. The switch units are designed as semiconductor switches such as insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for transferring electric power between a DC power source and an electric direct voltage intermediate circuit in a circuit device (2) a solar plant. |
