PURPOSE: An emotion vocabulary information building method and an apparatus thereof are provided to maximize the accuracy of emotion recognition and to minimize a hand work. CONSTITUTION: An emotion vocabulary DB(DataBase)(900) includes an emotion expression vocabulary and an emotion basis vocabulary corresponding to the emotion expression vocabulary. An emotion basis vocabulary extracting unit(910) extracts the emotion basis vocabularies of the emotion expression vocabulary from sentences including the emotion expression vocabulary by searching specific documents on a web based on a specific emotion expression vocabulary. An emotion expression vocabulary extracting unit(930) extracts the emotion expression vocabularies related to the emotion basis vocabulary from other sentences including the emotion basis vocabularies by searching the specific documents on the web based on a specific emotion basis vocabulary.
