The mechanism (10) has a ventilation opening (50) displaceably arranged in an air cushion during impact operation of a motor-propelled drilling or impact hammer along a longitudinal axis (L) of a housing sleeve (12). The air cushion is uprightly-formed between a drive piston and an impact body. A switching unit is axially moved relative to the ventilation opening while switching the impact body and/or drive piston in idling operation such that the air cushion is vented in the idling operation of the mechanism by the ventilation opening. |
