PURPOSE: A separator and an electrochemical device comprising the same are provided to minimize side reactions due to excessive additives, and to maintain an optimum state of an electrochemical device. CONSTITUTION: A separator comprises porous substrate(1)with many pores; a porous coating layer which is formed in one side of the porous substrate and/or the pores of the porous substrate, and comprises a binder polymer connecting and fixing to inorganic particles; and microcapsules(3) which are dispersed in the pores of the porous substrate and/or a dead space between the inorganic particles formed in the porous coating layer, and support performance-improving additives for an electrochemical device.
