PURPOSE: An image reading device and a scan method are provided to set a scan option and to effectively transmit a scanned image to other devices. CONSTITUTION: A communication interface unit(110) transmits generated scan images to a selected DLNA(Digital Living Network Alliance) device. A user interface unit(120) selects a transmission target from the displayed one or more DLNA devices. A scan unit(140) scans an article. A DLNA agent unit(150) generates jobs of DLNA and searches for the connected DLNA device. A searching unit(160) scans a scan option.
