<p>The invention relates to an electro-pneumatic pulsator for generating a pneumatic wave for driving ventricular assist devices and comprises a body with an internal mixing chamber, two inlet pneumatic connecting pieces for connecting the pneumatic power supply and two coaxial regulating valves. The first regulating valve is located between the mixing chamber and the first inlet pneumatic connecting piece, whereas the second regulating valve is located between the mixing chamber and the second inlet pneumatic connecting piece. The pulsator also comprises an outlet pneumatic connecting piece from the mixing chamber for transmitting the pneumatic wave to the ventricular assist device. Between the regulating valves there is a dual-acting linear motor for alternate opening of the regulating valves, said regulating valves are oppositely oriented and each regulating valve is located in an assigned pneumatic head and supported by a spring.</p> |
