PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus to detect motor malfunction in an electronic parking brake are provided to effectively detect the malfunction of an electronic parking brake by estimating the amount of current without using a current sensor. CONSTITUTION: A method to detect motor malfunction in an electronic parking brake estimates the amount of current which is flowing in a motor during the operation of an electronic parking brake(320). It is determined whether the estimated current is less than a reference value(330). It detects the malfunction of the motor.
