<p>Exercise equipment comprises a base 2, a support 6 movably mounted to the base 2, a movement resistance portion (e.g. arm levers 18) supported by the support 6 and coupled to a resistance element 21, wherein the support 6 is movable relative to the base 2 to provide two or more positions suitable for performing different types of exercise. The support 6 may comprise a ring rotatably mounted to the base 2. A hydraulic, electric or pneumatic actuator may be arranged to automatically move the support 6 relative to the base 2 according to a sequence or programme. The sequence may be automatically determined depending on the measurement or monitoring of user performance or ability. The resistance to movement may be automatically adjusted. Further movement resistance portion (e.g. levers 5 and foot plates 13) may be provided which may automatically move into a retracted position when not required.</p> |
