<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the favorable sealability of an elastic grommet even when the gap between the rim of a communication hole that connects the interior and the exterior of a vehicle body and a flexible long object, such as a wiring harness, that penetrates the communication hole is sealed with the grommet and a load of some kind is applied to the grommet. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The elastic grommet 13 seals the gap between the rim 10 of a communication hole 9 and a flexible long object 11. The grommet includes: an annular base portion 20 fit onto the rim 10; a cylindrical portion 21 integrally erected from the annular base portion 20 toward the interior 3 of a vehicle body 2; and a sealing body 23 that is integrally formed on the inner circumferential surface of an insertion hole 12 in the cylindrical portion 21 and seals the gap 22 between the inner circumferential surface and the outer circumferential surface of the long object 11. The part 31 of the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical portion 21 where the sealing body 23 is positioned is integrally provided with a protruded spacer 33 so as to fill the space 32 between the part 31 of the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical portion 21 and the rim 10 of the communication hole 9 opposed to the part 31 of the outer circumferential surface.
