There is provided a foreign matters trap (5), which is capable of reliably trapping metallic foreign matters in a gas insulated electric apparatus (1) and suppressing concentration of an electric field so that the apparatus becomes excellent in voltage endurance and which trap (5) can be readily mounted in a ground tank (3). A metallic corrugated plate (6) is arranged in a ground tank (3) so that a line connecting portions of the corrugated plate (6) having the same height is made parallel to a central axis of the ground tank (3), a metallic round rod (7) is mounted to an corrugated end of the corrugated plate (6), the corrugated plate (6) and the metallic round rod (7) are connected electrically to each other, and a surface of the corrugated plate (6) is covered by an insulating material.
