The present invention relates to a roll changer comprising a safety device. Adjacent to the roll changer, a safety area is formed, which is delimited from a surrounding area by the roll changer and further barrier means, can be entered via an access and has an intermediate storage facility. In addition to a feed track and a discharge track, the intermediate storage facility has at least one storage position for rolls and at least one transfer position. Within the safety area, a safety zone is arranged, which is separated from and/or can be separated from the safety area in at least one direction by at least one protective barrier. The invention also relates to a use of the roll changer for correcting an alignment of a roll, wherein the roll is pivoted 180° about a vertical axis, wherein the first roll rests on a first transport means, which rests on a second transport means and is pivoted by pivoting a pivoting device that is part of the second transport means, wherein a part of the pivoting device is pivoted 180° about the vertical axis, while the second transport means is empty. |
