<p>Coke is desulphurised by contacting the coke at 427 - 1371 degrees C and 7-210 atm. with a gaseous feed mixture contg. H2O, H2 and carbon oxides, so that not more than 25% wt. of the coke is gasified, and the sulphur content of the remaining coke is decreased to less than 1.5%wt. based on the remaining coke. Used for desulphurising petroleum coke particles contg. a high percentage of sulphur. The desulphurised coke is suitable for use in metal prodn.</p> |
