PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a control method thereof are provided to enable convenient operation through a holography user interface. CONSTITUTION: A holography module(156) outputs a holography image according to the control by a control unit(180). The holography image is generated by a diffraction phenomenon and an interference pattern of light irradiated in a holography storage medium. When one event is generated among a plurality of trigger events, the control unit controls the holography module in order to output the holography image. The plurality of trigger events includes a user designated event.
