The present application relates to a lid (3) for a food processor (1). The lid is releasably attachable to a container (3) to enclose a food processing tool unit (4) which is operated by a drive unit (5). The lid (3) has a drive unit mount (28) to releasably mount a drive unit (5) to the lid (3), an attachment element to releasably attach the lid (3) to a container (2), and a locking element operable to engage a container (2) attached to the lid (3) when a drive unit (5) is mounted to the lid (3). Therefore, detachment of the lid (3) from a container (2) is prevented by the locking element when a drive unit (5) is mounted to the lid (3).
