PURPOSE: An object tracking device in a camera environment and a method thereof are provided to track objects by executing a color modeling process in a camera environment. CONSTITUTION: An object tracking device divides color expression values into a plurality of sub-color areas(S110). The object tracking device converts a red pixel, a green pixel, and a blue pixel of an obtained image into color values(S120). The object tracking device allocates the converted color values to the sub-color area(S130). The object tracking device extracts a sub-color area group including a predetermined color value(S140). The object tracking device generates a color histogram for the sub-color area group(S160).
