1296687 Furniture joints BIOK S A 17 Nov 1969 [25 Nov 1968 9 Sept 1969] 56070/69 Heading A4H A first panel P, Fig.9 is joined to a second panell at 90 degrees, each panel having abutting first bevel edge faces such as 8<SP>1</SP> inclined to the major surfaces, the first panel P including a second edge face 8" perpendicular to the major faces and abutting a major face of panel 1, a channel 9 between the second face 8" and the first face of the first panel P, the panels being joined, e.g. by nails 10. The panel 1 may have further bevelled edges 2, Fig.1, perpendicular to panel P for joining to bevelled edges 2 of further panels 1 perpendicular to panel P. The bevelled edges 2, each comprising two faces intersecting at 90 degrees are inter-connected by a rod 5 inserted in bores 3 in each panel 1, each bore communicating with the bevelled edge and with a major force of the panel through a recess 4, the rod 5 by locked by an eccentric 7 inserted in each recess 4 and engaging a constricted end 6 of the rod. Four, three Fig.4 (not shown), or two Fig.5 (not shown), panels 1 may be inter-connected, the rod being cross-, T-, or L-shaped. The bore axis may be midway of the opposite major faces of the panel and pass through the intersection of the bevel and pass through the intersection of the bevel faces, Fig.5 (not shown) or the intersection 9 the bevel faces may be off centre and the bore may open to the larger bevel face Fig.7 (not shown). |
