PURPOSE: A timing control method in a communication system and a device thereof are provided to increase accuracy of timing estimation in a base station. CONSTITUTION: A memory(330) stores cyclic shifts(CS) assigned in accessed terminals. A timing detection unit determines detection areas of the CS corresponding to intervals of the CS and the number of terminals. The timing detection unit detects sounding reference signals(SRS) of the terminals in the detection areas. A control unit(320) controls the timing of the terminals corresponding to intervals of the SRS and the CS in the detection areas.
