PURPOSE: A heat insulating material for a ladle and a heat insulating method for molten steel using the same are provided to obtain improved heat insulation and corrosion resistance of molten metal by injecting MgO powder as well as the general heating insulating material to the molten metal. CONSTITUTION: A heat insulating material for a ladle comprises a first heat insulating material(2) and a second heat insulating material(5). The first heat insulating material comprises CaO of 40%-50%, SiO2 of 40%-50%, Al2O3 of 2% or less(except 0), MgO of 5%-10%, carbon of 0%-0.2%, sulfur of 0%-0.2%, and a binder and inevitable components of the remaining amount. The second heat insulating material is composed of MgO of 85-95%, C of 5% or less(except 0), and inevitable components on the top of the first heat insulating material. |
