PURPOSE: A control assembly with a vacuum pump and a method for controlling the vacuum pump are provided to reduce noise when the RPM of an engine is low because the running speed or running time of a motor used in the vacuum pump can be controlled relatively lower than when the RPM of the engine is high. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a vacuum pump is as follows. The RPM of an engine is detected and is compared with a predetermined reference(S503). According to the comparison result, the operational conditions of the vacuum pump are flexibly controlled. The vacuum pump comprises a rotor for sucking air and a motor for rotating the motor to generate vacuum pressure. At least one of the running speed or running time of the motor is changed according to the RPM of the engine. |
