PURPOSE: A navigation device with a route reset function and a method for setting and resetting a route are provided to facilitate to set and reset the route to a destination via a stopping place by touching or directly drawing the desirable stopping place on a touch screen. CONSTITUTION: A navigation device with a route reset function comprises a touch screen(110), a coordinate receiving unit(120), a map memory unit(130), and a control unit(140). A route is displayed on the touch screen, and a driver input is performed by touching the touch screen. The coordinate receiving unit receives the coordinated data of a vehicle location. The map memory unit records the map images for guiding the route. The control unit searches the route to a destination and sets the same as the guide route and displays a current vehicle location confirmed by the coordinate receiving unit and the set guide unit on the map images fetched from the map memory. The route via a stopping place where a driver selects by touching the screen is researched, and the researched route is set as a new guide route.
