PURPOSE: A button type safety locking device of a sliding door is provided to conveniently open and close the door by forming a doorknob as a fixed doorknob and by forming a push button on the doorknob in order to press the push button with a hand holding a doorknob. CONSTITUTION: A lock(1) is composed by the combination of an elevating plate, a pusher and a latch. The elevating plate, installed inside a door frame to be aligned with a doorknob(30) and pushed by the internal part of a push button(40), has an upward elastic force. The pusher connected to both sides of the elevating plate performs a rotation by the elevation of the elevating plate. The latch is opened or closed by the rotation of the pusher. A fixing metal(20) fixed on the door frame to be mutually combined with the lock has a hanging sill on both sides of a body. The doorknob is fixed on a door not to be moved. The push button, integrally installed on the upper end of the doorknob in order to be pressed by the thumb of a hand holding the doorknob, is able to push the elevating plate with a lower end part.
