A method and a system for collecting location information in a shadow area using a mobile terminal are provided to enhance user satisfaction of a mobile communication service by improving service quality which can be felt by a mobile terminal user of an LBS(Location-Based Service). An address information unit makes a database of address information according to subscriber numbers(S310), makes a database of representative latitude/longitude values according to the address information(S320), and makes a database of PN candidate groups according to the address information(S330). The address information unit checks whether a PPM data request signal is received from a location calculation server(S340). If a PPM(Pilot Phase Measurement) data request signal is received, the address information unit receives a PN of a mobile terminal from the location calculation server(S350) and compares it with the PN candidate groups to check whether there is the same PN(S360). If there is the same PN, the address information unit extracts address information corresponding to the PN(S370). The address information unit extracts latitude/longitude values corresponding to the address information, generates PPM(Pilot Phase Measurement) data including the latitude/longitude values(S380), and transmits the PPM data to a pilot cell positioning server(S390). |
