PURPOSE: An anticancer composition containing a silver magnolia extract is provided to specifically suppress BAF phosphorylation using VRK1 phosphoenzyme. CONSTITUTION: An anticancer composition contains one or more ingredients selected from the group consisting of a silver magnolia extract, a compound isolated from the extract, and a derivative of the compound as active ingredients. The extract is prepared by extracting silver magnolia fruit with one or more organic solvents selected from the group consisting of n-hexane, ethyl acetate, n-butanol, and methanol.
