SYSTEM FOR LONG TERM VALIDATION OF DIGITAL SIGNATURES AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A long-term electronic signature verification system and a method thereof are provided to verify the validity of an electronic signature after the expiration of a certificate, to proceed with long-term verification without interrupting the verification when a certificate expires, and to offer a certificate verification service by keeping revocation information of an expired certificate. CONSTITUTION: A long-term electronic signature verification system includes a relay server(200) providing a long-term verification service for electronic signatures in electronic documents by implementing the following steps: receiving a certificate verification request message from a client(100)(S10); requesting certificate verification from a certification authority(300) based on the certificate verification request message(S11); obtaining a response message for the certificate verification request from the certification authority(S12); transmitting an OCSP(Online Certificate Status Protocol) request message to the certification authority based on the certificate verification request message(S13); obtaining a response message for the certificate verification request from the certification authority(S14); and transmitting a certificate verification processing response message to the client based on the response message(S15).
