<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide porous metal oxide dielectric particles having a higher relative dielectric constant than conventional particles. <P>SOLUTION: The porous metal oxide dielectric particles have a great number of open pores, wherein a pore area measured according to a mercury intrusion porosimetry of JIS R 1655 is 3-35 m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>/g. The dielectric particles have an average particle diameter D<SB POS="POST">50</SB>of 0.1-2 μm and a maximum particle diameter of ≤10 μm.
