<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with high reliability. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device comprises: a first substrate AR including a plurality of pixel electrodes PE arranged in a matrix shape, gate wiring G extending along a row in which the pixel electrodes PE are arrayed, source wiring S extending along a column, and an electrode EB which is arranged on the same layer as the pixel electrode PE and is supplied with potential applied to the gage wiring G in the surrounding region of a region ACT where the plurality of pixel electrodes PE are arranged; a second substrate CT which includes a common electrode CE facing the region ACT where the plurality of pixel electrodes PE are arranged and the surrounding region and is arranged facing the first substrate AR; and a liquid crystal layer LQ held between the first substrate AR and the second substrate CT.
