<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relatively compact turbomachine. <P>SOLUTION: A turbomachine comprises a rotor assembly, a stator assembly, and a toroidal inductor. The rotor assembly comprises an impeller, and the inductor surrounds the rotor assembly.
