<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent material capable of obtaining high light emission efficiency even under high temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The fluorescent material includes Eu-activated Sr<SB POS="POST">3</SB>Si<SB POS="POST">13</SB>Al<SB POS="POST">3</SB>O<SB POS="POST">2</SB>N<SB POS="POST">21</SB>-based crystal-containing particles and expresses light emission having a light emission peak between 490 nm and 580 nm wavelength when excited with a ray of 250-500 nm wavelength. The particles satisfy the ratio (O<SB POS="POST">outer</SB>/O<SB POS="POST">inner</SB>) to be 1.0-3.8, wherein (O<SB POS="POST">outer</SB>) is the average of oxygen concentrations in the outer region which is within a depth of 5 nm from the surface of the crystal and(O<SB POS="POST">inner</SB>) is the average of oxygen concentrations in the inner region which is deeper than 5 nm from the surface of the crystal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
