<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel capable of obtaining the same operation torque regardless of whether an operation member is rotated in a normal or reverse direction. <P>SOLUTION: The lens barrel comprises: a fixed cylinder holding a lens; the operation member rotatable in normal and reverse directions, which are circumferential directions, with respect to the fixed cylinder; a restoration member provided on one of the fixed cylinder and the operation member and projecting in a radial direction of the lens; a neutral member provided on the other of the fixed cylinder and the operation member and projecting in a radial direction; and a spring member having a spring shaft part fixed to the other of the fixed cylinder and the operation member and first and second leg parts extending from the spring shaft part. When the operation member is not rotated, the first and second leg parts of the spring member are in contact with the neutral member from both sides of the neutral member by use of energizing force in the circumferential directions. When the operation member rotates, one of the first and second leg parts is displaced by the restoration member in the circumferential direction.
