<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser that is easily coupled to an optical component. <P>SOLUTION: A semiconductor laser 10 has a light-emitting part 20 and a light control part 30 formed in a monolithic manner. An n-type lower DBR 102, an active region 104, a current constriction layer 106, and a p-type upper DBR are laminated on an n-type GaAs substrate 100. The light control part 30 propagates light emitted by the light-emitting part 20 in a direction substantially parallel to a principal plane of the substrate, and absorbs or amplifies the propagated light. Also, a reflection part 124 is formed on a surface of the light control part 30, and the reflection part 124 converges the light incident from an upper DBR 108 and reflects it in a certain direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
