<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound useful as a dye having good solubility in an organic solvent. <P>SOLUTION: The compound is expressed by formula (I). In formula (I), R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>each independently represents 1-8C alkyl, 6-10C aromatic hydrocarbon, or the like; R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>represents sulfo or carboxy; R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">5</SP>each independently represents a hydrogen atom or a group expressed by formula (i); and R<SP POS="POST">6</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">7</SP>each independently represent sulfo or the like.
