<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a silicate-based green phosphor which satisfies various characteristics, such as color purity etc. that are required when used for a plasma display. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a Eu activated silicate-based phosphor is provided, wherein the Eu activated silicate-based phosphor is represented by composition of the following general formula (1) (2-a)BaO.bMgO.cSiO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>:aEuO, wherein 0<a≤0.2, 0.8≤b≤1.2, and 1.5≤c≤2.5, and exhibits green light emission when excited by vacuum ultraviolet rays. In the method for producing the phosphor, quartz having trigonal crystal structure is used as a raw material of SiO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>and burned at a temperature of 1,200-1,280°C with other raw materials of metal compounds, in a powder state without using a fluxing agent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
