<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an image forming apparatus to primarily perform power-on processing in response to a request from a server while reducing power consumption of the image forming apparatus after transition to remote shutdown. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus performs power source control in accordance with a power source control command received from a server by a communication control section. The image forming apparatus issues a query to the server to determine whether to turn on a second power source that energizes a controller for controlling the image forming apparatus each time a communicating means becomes communicable with the server at predetermined time intervals (S105). After that, the image forming apparatus repeats energization from a first power source to the communication control section at predetermined time intervals until a response to the query, which allows the second power source to be turned on, is received from the server (S101-S105). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
