<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus of high printing performance which performs printing based on image data generated by an image generating section to paper sheets fed in any one of directions from a paper sheet feed portion which stores the paper sheets of the same size to be conveyable in the longitudinal direction and lateral direction. <P>SOLUTION: The printer 1 stores paper sheets of the same size to be conveyable in the longitudinal direction and lateral direction, and performs printing on the basis of image data generated by the image generating section 12. The printer 1 includes a paper sheet direction information generating portion 17 which generates paper sheet direction information designating a direction of feeding of paper sheet to be printed. When the paper sheets are not out of stock at the printing start, the image generating section 12 starts generation of image data for a direction designated by the paper direction information. When the paper sheet runs out during printing and printing is interrupted, the image generating section starts generation of image data for a direction different from a direction designated by the paper sheet direction information for pages not completed in printing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
