<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking mode selection apparatus that enables a method for a parking mode selecting operation to be easily understood even by a driver unfamiliar with driving. <P>SOLUTION: The parking mode selection apparatus includes a control device 10 which detects an operation of making a steering wheel 500 returned to a neutral position after being operated rightward or leftward, as the parking mode selecting operation, on the basis of the acquired steering direction and steering angle of the steering wheel 500, which decides a first parking mode corresponding to the steering angle, in a direction identical with the steering direction in the parking mode selecting operation, which decides a second parking mode base by determining whether a selected parking mode is a parking mode of making the driver need to cut the wheel in the other direction or a parking mode of making it unnecessary for the driver to cut the wheel in the other direction, when the parallel parking mode is selected as the first parking mode, which selects a parking mode associated with parking assist, on the basis of the first and second parking modes, and which outputs the selected parking mode to a parking assist apparatus 300. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
