<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make mutual authentication between a first control means and a second control means be effectively utilized even in applications other than the guarantee of security. <P>SOLUTION: A game system for performing an equipment authentication sequence by using a board initial key downloaded from a higher order device when power is supplied first after being conveyed into a gaming parlor includes a sequence for performing communication processing of a communication test telegram before shipment to the gaming parlor. When the equipment authentication sequence is performed after supplying power and the board initial key is not obtained yet before shipment to the gaming parlor, the authentication result is NG in the equipment authentication sequence.
