<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress degradation of the image density at an end of a recording medium while reducing the amount of ink to be discharged in marginless recording for discharging ink both on the recording medium and outside the recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: An edge of a recording medium is detected, and an area for discharging ink is set based thereon. Information corresponding to the ink amount on a protruding area including the end of the recording medium and an area outside the edge out of the area on which ink is discharged, is obtained (S1). The recording data conversion condition is selected based on the information corresponding to the ink amount (S2). The recording data corresponding to the protruding area out of the recording data for discharging ink on the recording medium is converted according to the selected recording data conversion condition (S3). Ink is discharged on a part other than the protruding area of the recording medium according to the non-converted recording data, and ink is discharged on the protruding area according to the non-converted recording data (S4). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
