<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED unit capable of raising the efficiency of using light, and a lighting fixture using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The LED unit includes a wiring board 2 for mounting an LED 1, a case 4 capable of storing the wiring board 2, and a pair of wires 3a, 3b connected with the wiring board 2 and guided from the case 4. The case 4 has a first case 5 arranged at a mounting side of the LED 1 on the wiring board 2 and having an emitting section 8 for emitting light radiated from the LED 1, and a second case 6 arranged at a side opposite to the mounting side of the wiring board 2. A light emitting surface side of the emitting section 8 is formed in a concave shape on a lens section 9 for controlling light distribution. Each wire 3a, 3b is a coated wire with a portion of each conductor 3c exposed in the case 4. The first case 5 has an inclined section 13d wherein a distance between one surface of the first case 5 opposite to the second case 6 and the second case 6 is gradually lessened as it approaches the lens section 9.
